This is the website of Consam Communications. Based in Leicester, established in 1981, by the Wainwright brothers, Chris and Nick, Consam are two-way radio specialists offering many types of VHF and UHF radio equipment from all the main manufacturers. In addition to the supply, rental and service of radio equipment, Consam also manufacture a wide range of desk top power supplies and 6 way rack chargers.



Product Range
Consam are independent dealers, meaning that we are not tied down to products of any single manufacturer, and are free to offer all makes of two-way radio......which means that we can offer our customers the best radio for their needs. We can supply equipment from Kenwood, Motorola, Mototrbo digital radio, Entel, Icom, HYT, and Maxon.

Consam Communications are now pleased to announce that we have been appointed as a Kenwood Approved Distributor In addition we now carry the full range HYT radios, from the new TC446s license free unit, the TC610, and TC620  through to the feature packed PD785 digital/analogue radios. Our new favourite radio for our rental fleet is the tough Vertex VX351 radio, which is proving to be very tough, and the market leader at this price point. We also recommend the TR50 low power repeater radio that is ideal for all type of large sites that need a talk through system to provide the coverage. HYT have also released an ATEX version of the TC700 radio, making it ideal for the most demanding situations, where safety is not an option. Click on the image to left to see the Brochure.

April 2008 - Consam have become approved dealers for the Box Telematics vehicle and asset tracking system. We feel that this system offers the best "entry level" GPS based tracking system available today. It is very cost effective, and yet can produce all the usual detailed reports that the more expensive and complicated systems can offer. In addition we can offer the Box Solo battery powered unit that can track plant and machinery for up to 3 years between charges (depending on the settings)

Manufacturing and Special Projects
Consam Communications also have the in-house skills to design and build a wide range of radio related products. In particular we are now leading suppliers of "aftermarket" 6-way rack chargers, desktop power supply consoles (radio housings), and wired, high noise communications systems.
